RESULTS FOR 2010-11

 

 

UNA INTER SCHOOL DEBATING COMPETITION FINAL 30 JUNE 2011
4 30 PM at CROYDON HIGH SCHOOL

 

This year’s final between Old Palace School and Wallington County Grammar School.

 

Purley with Sutton Branch of the United Nations Association has been running this competition since 1977.

 

We are grateful to Croydon High School for hosting this year’s Final.

 

 

The Final, was Chaired by Dick Moran

 

The topic selected was:  “This House believes that computer hackers are shining a light into dark corners”

 

Wallington County Grammar School  (represented by Joshua Heath & Hannah Mirsky were proposing.

 

Old Palace School (represented by Hana Shabi & Emma-Jane Humphreys  were opposing.

 

 

  The debate was a well fought event with Old Palace school just snatching victory by a couple of  points.

 

  The trophies were awarded by Stephen Harrow, board member of UNA-UK

 

 

 

 

o      The Winners Old Palace school received the DIGBY WEIGHTMANN SHIELD

         

 

o      The Runners Up Wallington County Grammar received the FOWLER CUP

 

 

o      The best individual speaker was awarded to Joshua Heath who received the MAYORAL TROPHY
